SCC USA

About us

We're on a mission to provide skills, opportunities and hope through education

SCC-USA's founding in 1999 was inspired by Saigon Children's Charity, which is one of our partners based in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. They are one of the longest serving and most respected NGOs in Vietnam.

SCC-USA works with well-established, respected organizations to deliver services to beneficiaries, including:

Saigon Children's

Charity

Saigon Children’s Charity CIO (saigonchildren) was founded in 1992 to help disadvantaged children get an education and a fairer start in life. Saigonchildren works across the whole of Vietnam to overcome barriers to education for children, including poverty, geography, knowledge, and disability.

In 2018, saigonchildren received The Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister of Vietnam in recognition of our work improving access to education and contributing to Vietnam’s economic development.

Blue Dragon

Foundation

Blue Dragon was founded in 2004 with a mission to end human trafficking.  They learned early on that lack of education is common among both the perpetrators and victims of this scourge, and in response their educational programs play key roles in their success.

For two decades, they have been keeping kids in school, supporting them to attend university and providing them with vocational training. Thanks to their efforts, thousands of children have finished their studies and followed their dreams; free of fear and full of hope.

Frequently Asked Question

Your support is instrumental in fueling our mission and expanding our reach

Who are your partners in Vietnam?

We work with a variety of trusted partners throughout Vietnam. All of them are fully vetted and have extensive experience and excellent reputations in Vietnam and globally. They provide annual reports and audited financials.

There are several reasons donors choose to work with us:

1) Most organizations in Vietnam cannot offer 501(c)(3) benefits to US taxpayers

2) It is complicated and potentially unlawful for US individuals and organizations to directly fund Vietnamese organizations.

3) Our trusted partners work closely with our partner organizations in Vietnam organizations to build their capabilities and ensure that projects are delivered successfully

All SCC-USA staff are volunteers.  We have very low overhead so the vast majority of your donations are distributed to our trusted partners in Vietnam, who implement the programs.

Our focus is on giving vulnerable children the ability to transform their lives through education and employment.  Over more than 30 years we have helped tens of thousands of children out of abject poverty and into rewarding careers with multinational companies, enabling them to bring prosperity to their extended families and communities.

$1 will keep keep a disadvantaged child in school for a day, $120 provides a month of speech & language therapy for a child with autism, $1800 pays for the entire life-changing university education of a poor but determined youngster, and $60,000 is enough to build a new school in rural Vietnam.

SCC-USA and our partners are committed to effectiveness, transparency and efficiency
